The Highly Anticipated 2024 European Darts Open
The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has announced the initial 32 participants for the highly anticipated 2024 European Darts Open. This prestigious Euro Tour tournament will take place in Leverkusen from June 21 to 23.
Firstly, the top 16 players in the world rankings will automatically receive an invitation to the event. This is followed by the next 16 highest-ranked players on the Pro Tour rankings. However, the top 16 players on the Pro Tour Order of Merit will be granted protected status, allowing them to enter the tournament from the second round.
Leading the seedings list is the in-form Luke Humphries, who will be looking to capitalize on his recent success. Joining him as seeded players are the likes of Dave Chisnall, Damon Heta, Gary Anderson, Rob Cross, Gerwyn Price, Danny Noppert, Michael van Gerwen, Josh Rock, Ross Smith, Ryan Searle, Stephen Bunting, Martin Schindler, Peter Wright, Chris Dobey, and Ricardo Pietreczko.

The remaining 16 players who have qualified for the European Darts Open include Gian van Veen, Michael Smith, Daryl Gurney, Jonny Clayton, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Ryan Joyce, Joe Cullen, Raymond van Barneveld, Krzysztof Ratajski, Andrew Gilding, James Wade, Luke Littler, Gabriel Clemens, Luke Woodhouse, Nathan Aspinall, and Dimitri Van den Bergh. These competitors will need to navigate the first round to ensure their prize money counts towards the various rankings.
Sixteen additional starting spots are still up for grabs, with ten of them being distributed through a qualifying tournament for Tour Card holders on May 8. Furthermore, there will be a Host Nation Qualifier, an Eastern European qualifying tournament, and a Nordic & Baltic Qualifier, each offering four starting spots.
