Blackpool, July 20, 2024 – The field and draw for the highly anticipated Women’s World Matchplay 2024 have been announced, set to take place at the renowned Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Sunday afternoon, July 21st. The prestigious third edition of this event will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and through the PDC’s global partners.
Defending Champion Faces Tough Opponent
Defending champion Beau Greaves, the 20-year-old English sensation widely regarded as the best player in the world, will face off against Katie Sheldon in the opening round. Greaves, who won the title on her debut last year, has since dominated the Women’s Series, claiming nine more tournament victories.
Former Champion Takes on Debutant
Fallon Sherrock, the 2022 Women’s World Matchplay champion, will take on debutant Anastasia Dobromyslova, a three-time Women’s World Champion who reached two finals in last year’s Women’s Series.
Exciting Quarterfinal Matchups
Lisa Ashton, seeded third after winning two Women’s Series titles on Sunday, will battle Rhian O’Sullivan, the sixth-ranked player, in another captivating quarterfinal matchup.
The remaining quarterfinal will feature Mikuru Suzuki, last year’s runner-up, against Noa-Lynn van Leuven, who lost to Greaves in the first round of the previous edition.
