Darts Enthusiast Delight: Luke Littler Reclaims Top Spot on World Series Order of Merit
In a thrilling turn of events, the young darts sensation Luke Littler has regained the coveted first place on the prestigious World Series Order of Merit. The 17-year-old Englishman’s impressive victory at the Poland Darts Masters in Gliwice has propelled him back to the top of the rankings, overtaking the previous leader, Gerwyn Price.
The dynamic ‘Nuke‘ showcased his prowess on the oche, decisively defeating a series of formidable opponents, including Adam Gawlas (6-4), Peter Wright (6-3), Michael Smith (7-6), and Rob Cross (8-3), to secure the overall tournament triumph.
With this victory, Littler has now amassed a remarkable 37 points, reclaiming the top spot from Gerwyn Price, who had previously snatched the lead after his triumph at the Nordic Darts Masters in Copenhagen earlier this month. However, Price’s absence from the Poland Darts Masters provided the young prodigy with the perfect opportunity to regain his position at the summit.
“Winning a World Series event earns 12 points, while the runner-up receives 8 points and semifinalists 5 points.”
Interestingly, Rob Cross has also moved up the rankings, securing the second spot with 32 points, narrowly edging out the Welshman Gerwyn Price, who now sits in third place with 30 points.
The ever-consistent Michael van Gerwen occupies the fourth position with 28 points, having earlier won the Dutch Darts Masters in Den Bosch and reaching the final of the Bahrain Darts Masters.
As the World Series of Darts calendar continues to unfold, upcoming tournaments in Australia and New Zealand will provide further opportunities for the top-ranked players to jockey for position.
Darts enthusiasts will undoubtedly be captivated by the ongoing battle for supremacy on the World Series Order of Merit, with Luke Littler’s resurgence adding an extra layer of excitement to the proceedings.
