Darts Excitement Unfolds at the Dutch Darts Championship in Rosmalen
The Dutch Darts Championship is in full swing in Rosmален, with Ritchie Edhouse, Dom Taylor, and home favorites Marvin van Velzen, as well as Swedish-born Dutch player Jeffrey de Graaf, all progressing to Saturday’s action.
Ritchie Edhouse, despite not being at his absolute best, managed to grind out a 6-3 victory over Jiri Brejcha, averaging 84. Edhouse hit an impressive six 180s, but his doubles were the reason for his relatively low average, as he struggled with 6/24 on the outer ring. Brejcha had his chances but couldn’t capitalize, averaging 79 in the defeat.
In a Nordic and Baltic clash, Jeffrey de Graaf emerged victorious over Madars Razma, winning 6-3 with a clinical display. De Graaf averaged 91 and hit 6/8 on his doubles, including a high checkout of 110. Razma also had a respectable performance, hitting a 152 checkout and achieving a 42.9% (3/7) doubling success rate.
Englishman Dom Taylor put on a superb display, averaging 102.26 in his 6-3 win over Jose de Sousa, the “Special One.” Dutchman Marvin van Velzen also progressed, narrowly defeating Christian Kist 6-5 in an all-Dutch affair on his European Tour debut. Van Velzen averaged 86 to Kist’s 85.96, in a tightly contested clash that went down to the wire.
