Darts Enthusiasts Rejoice: Max Hopp Returns to the PDC Stage
Fans of the sport of darts have reason to celebrate as Max Hopp, the renowned German darts player, has qualified for the upcoming German Darts Championship. The tournament is set to take place from August 30th to September 1st in Hildesheim.
Hopp, who last played on the European Tour in April 2022, showcased his skill and determination in the qualification rounds. He defeated Marcel Gomula (6-2), former Tour Card holder Michael Unterbuchner (6-0), Lukas Fraulob (6-1), Thomas Köhnlein (6-2), and Oliver Müller (6-5) to secure his spot in the prestigious event.
Joining Hopp in the German Darts Championship are three other players who also qualified – Niko Springer, Matthias Ehlers, and Dragutin Horvat. Horvat, in particular, impressed with his performance, reaching the round of 32 with an impressive average of 107.85.
In a separate competition, the Host Nation Qualifier for the European Darts Open 2024, several German darts players have also earned their place in the upcoming tournament. Nico Kurz, Nico Blum, Kevin Troppmann, and Jan Dückers all secured their spots through the qualifier.

Nico Kurz’s Impressive Performance
Kurz, who was last active on the European Tour in 2023, showcased his skills by defeating Niclas Wierling, Fabian Herz, Leon Weber, and Liam Maendl-Lawrance before ultimately prevailing against Dragutin Horvat in the final round.
Nico Blum’s Return to the European Tour Stage
Blum, who last appeared on the European Tour stage in 2018, also had a strong performance, defeating Chris Massilge, Christopher Weiss, and Francesco Marcone, among others. Troppmann and Dückers, both seasoned darts players, also earned their spots in the upcoming European Darts Open.
