Darts Legends Clash in Thrilling Exhibition in Norwich
On a Sunday night in Norwich, darts legends Raymond van Barneveld and Nathan Aspinall faced off in an exciting exhibition match. The Dutchman ultimately emerged victorious, securing a 6-3 win over his opponent.
Just a day earlier, on Saturday, Michael van Gerwen had edged out a close 8-7 win over Van Barneveld in another exhibition event held in the same city. However, the five-time world champion quickly bounced back, putting on an impressive performance to defeat Aspinall convincingly.
“Statistics provided by the organizer, MODUS Darts, revealed that Van Barneveld threw at an average of 92.81, while also recording two 180 scores and a 74 finish. His best leg was a impressive 13-darter.”
The next tournament on Van Barneveld’s calendar is the Dutch Darts Championship, taking place in Rosmalen, the Netherlands, from May 24 to 26. The veteran Dutchman will be among the 12 home nation players competing in the Euro Tour event. Aspinall is also slated to participate in the tournament, entering from the first round.
Earlier in the evening, at the same exhibition event in Norwich, Jonny Clayton and Daryl Gurney also entertained the crowd. In that match, it was Gurney who emerged victorious, securing a 6-4 win. ‘Superchin’ threw an average of 87 and recorded a highest finish of 96.
