Darts Sensation Luke Littler Stuns with Unconventional 120 Finish at Premier League
In a thrilling display of darts prowess, 17-year-old sensation Luke Littler made waves during the 16th round of the Premier League Darts in Sheffield on Thursday night. Facing off against veteran Peter Wright, Littler caught the crowd’s attention with an unexpected 120 finish.
During the third leg, Wright had taken a 2-1 lead by throwing out 80 points via double 20 twice. But Littler quickly evened the score at 2-2 with a superb 13-darter. When Littler found himself on 120 in the fifth leg, the usual approach would have been the conventional Shanghai 20, triple 20, single 20 and double 20 route.
However, “The Nuke” had other plans. Demonstrating his exceptional darts skills, Littler decided to prove he could also masterfully land his darts on the double 20. With three well-aimed throws, he clinched the 120 finish in style, much to the delight of the spectators.
“This unorthodox approach was not the first of its kind in a televised darts tournament. In 2021, Jose de Sousa pulled off a similar feat at the Premier League Darts, leaving commentator Wayne Mardle in awe.”
Littler’s bold move paid off, as he went on to secure a 6-4 victory over Wright, securing his place in the Premier League Darts. Although he later lost 6-5 to eventual winner Michael Smith, the young prodigy’s impressive performance has cemented his status as a rising star in the darts world.
