Gian van Veen Clinches Second Darts Title of 2024 on Development Tour
On Friday, Gian van Veen emerged victorious in the seventh Development Tour event of the 2024 season, held in Hildesheim. This triumph marks his second title of the year, further cementing his dominance on the youth circuit. Van Veen, who has been a standout performer on the Development Tour over the past season, convincingly defeated Nathan Rafferty 5-1 in the final, securing his eighth Development Tour crown since 2023.
“The Development Tour serves as the youth system of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), catering to players aged 16 to 23. At each tournament, a prize pool of 15,000 pounds is up for grabs, with the rankings determining the players who earn invitations to the World Darts Championship and the Grand Slam of Darts.”
In addition to Van Veen’s triumph, the weekend also saw Roman Benecky claim victory in one of the two events that took place on Saturday, further adding to the excitement of the Development Tour action.
As the 2024 season continues, the Development Tour remains a crucial pathway for the next generation of darts talent to showcase their skills and work towards the pinnacle of the sport.
