In a captivating clash of generations, the 2023 Premier League Darts tournament has witnessed the rise of 17-year-old Luke Littler, who currently leads the pack, and the enduring presence of 54-year-old Peter Wright, who finds himself at the bottom of the standings.
Littler, the youngest participant in this year’s event, has been making waves with his unorthodox preparation methods. “Like all the other guys and myself, we practice a lot in the back room. He [Littler] just sits there on his phone, gets up and has about five minutes, then walks on the stage and spanks everyone!” Wright, a seasoned veteran, marvels at the young prodigy’s approach.
Despite the significant age gap, Wright remains undeterred, determined to reclaim his position among the sport’s elite. “Both Lukes are the best players in the world at the moment followed by Gary Anderson,” he asserts. “They are all great for the sport, hopefully I can get back to form and upset them a little bit.”
This captivating clash of old and new has captivated darts enthusiasts, as the experienced Wright battles to regain his former glory while the promising Littler continues to impress with his unorthodox yet effective style.
