The Teenage Sensation Regains Top Spot on PDC European Tour
Luke Littler Captures Second Euro Tour Title of the Season
The 17-year-old sensation Luke Littler has regained the top spot on the PDC European Tour Order of Merit. Last weekend, Littler captured his second Euro Tour title of the season by emerging victorious at the Austrian Darts Open. Earlier this year, he also clinched the Belgian Darts Open title.
Impressively, Littler has already amassed £62,500 in earnings from the Euro Tour tournaments, despite only competing in 3 out of the 5 events so far. In contrast, Martin Schindler, who sits in second place, played in all 5 tournaments and has accumulated £47,000 in prize money, largely thanks to his triumph at the International Darts Open.
Top Performers on the PDC European Tour
Rounding out the top 4 on the Euro Tour Order of Merit are Luke Humphries and Gary Anderson, who won the other two Euro Tour tournaments. Notably, both Humphries and Anderson were absent from the recent Austrian Darts Open.
Gerwyn Price remains in fifth place with £33,000, while Ross Smith has moved up to sixth position after his semifinal showing at the Austrian event. The top 10 is further populated by familiar names such as Rob Cross, Stephen Bunting, and Michael van Gerwen.
Joe Cullen had to settle for second place behind Littler at the Austrian Darts Open, but his performance has propelled him to 11th in the rankings. Meanwhile, several notable players, including Peter Wright, Nathan Aspinall, and Michael Smith, are currently just inside the qualification spots for the prestigious European Championship in Dortmund, set to take place from October 24-27.
