Rising Darts Sensation Luke Littler Triumphs at Bahrain Masters
Manama, Bahrain – Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler made a resounding statement on the World Series stage, securing a commanding 6-3 victory over Hong Kong’s Man Lok Leung in the Bahrain Masters on Thursday.
Despite facing early setbacks and trailing 2-0, the 16-year-old prodigy showcased his unwavering composure and skill, reeling off five consecutive legs to silence the crowd and seal the win against the world number 126.
Littler, who currently stands at a career-high ranking of 31st globally, delivered a masterclass performance, unleashing four maximums (180s) and registering a remarkable average of 97.92 points per three darts.
“The youngster’s triumph in Bahrain comes hot on the heels of his historic run at the recent PDC World Championship, where he became the youngest player ever to win a match at the prestigious event before reaching the final, ultimately falling to world number one Luke Humphries.”
Littler’s impressive display has set the stage for a tantalizing clash with fellow Englishman and reigning World Matchplay champion, Nathan Aspinall, in the next round. Aspinall narrowly edged out Filipino opponent Lourence Ilagan 6-5 to book his spot in the next stage.
This high-profile World Series event features eight PDC stars pitted against eight rising Asian talents in best-of-11 leg matches, with the winner claiming a lucrative £20,000 prize. For Littler, the opportunity to further cement his status as a darts prodigy on the global stage is the real prize at stake.
