Darts Enthusiast Sees Exciting Start to Poland Darts Masters
Darts fans were treated to an exhilarating opening round match at the Poland Darts Masters on Friday night, as Stephen “The Bullet” Bunting secured a convincing 6-1 victory over Polish favorite Krzysztof “The Polish Eagle” Ratajski.
Despite the raucous home crowd support for Ratajski, it was Bunting who emerged triumphant, demonstrating his remarkable composure under pressure. The recently crowned Masters champion maintained his focus, capitalizing on Ratajski’s struggles on the doubles, where he managed to hit only one of his 12 attempts.
Bunting wasted no time establishing his dominance, racing to a 5-0 lead before Ratajski managed to salvage a leg with a 118 finish. However, Bunting sealed the match in the very next leg with a clinical 14-darter.
“I was really nervous before the match. Obviously, playing the home favorite and then the way he started, he put me straight under pressure,” Bunting acknowledged in his post-match interview. “But I never faded in the match. I just thought I’ve got to keep putting him under pressure.”
The Englishman’s experience of playing in front of a partisan crowd in Liverpool served him well, as he navigated the intense atmosphere with poise and determination.
Bunting’s Impressive Performance
Bunting’s impressive performance in Poland comes on the heels of a quarter-final appearance at the recent Nordic Darts Masters in Copenhagen, where he faced off against Rob Cross. The two players will now renew their rivalry in the quarter-finals of the Poland Darts Masters.
“I’ve been really looking forward to these two events, Denmark and Poland. I’ve put a lot of work in behind the scenes to get myself into these events and thankfully I’ve been picked to play,” Bunting shared. “It’s an absolutely amazing country and yeah, I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far.”
As the Poland Darts Masters continues to captivate darts enthusiasts, all eyes will be on the quarter-final clash between Bunting and Cross, as the tournament promises to deliver more thrilling action in the days ahead.
