Rob Cross Climbs to Fifth on PDC Order of Merit
Rob Cross has moved up to the fifth spot on the PDC Order of Merit, overtaking Gerwyn Price, after claiming victory at the Baltic Sea Darts Open. This shift sees ‘The Iceman’ drop to sixth place, his lowest ranking since 2019. Cross now has his sights set on overtaking fourth-placed Nathan Aspinall, who is just £3,500 ahead of “Voltage.” However, the top three positions remain out of Cross’ reach for now, with Michael van Gerwen still £442,250 ahead in third place. Van Gerwen had lost his second-place standing to Michael Smith last week, but the latter’s absence from the Baltic Sea Darts Open allowed the Dutchman to regain some ground, though he only managed a quarterfinal finish. Smith still maintains a £7,750 lead over Van Gerwen. Atop the Order of Merit, Luke Humphries continues to tower over the competition, with over £1.5 million in prize money earned in the past 24 months.
Damon Heta Reclaims Ninth Position
In other news, Damon Heta has reclaimed the ninth position in the world rankings, passing Jonny Clayton and Dimitri van den Bergh. ‘The Dreammaker’ has slipped two places and is now ranked 11th. Meanwhile, Stephen Bunting has returned to the top 16 of the world rankings, at the expense of Dirk van Duijvenbode, who now sits 17th. Gian van Veen has moved closer to making his debut in the top 32 of the PDC Order of Merit, climbing to 33rd place. Additionally, Madars Razma has risen three spots to 36th after his semifinal finish at the Baltic Sea Darts Open.
