Nijman and Rafferty Secure Second PDC Development Tour Titles
In a thrilling double-header on the PDC Development Tour, Wessel Nijman and Nathan Rafferty each secured their second title of the season.
The 13th tournament saw Nijman, the Dutchman, cruise through the competition, defeating a series of opponents including Dominik Gruellich, David Schlichting, Moreno Blom, Jenson Walker, Felix Springer, Beau Greaves, and Niko Springer, before narrowly edging out Rafferty 5-4 in the final.
“It was a close-fought battle, but I’m thrilled to have come out on top,” said Nijman.
However, the tables turned in the 14th tournament, as Rafferty, the Northern Irishman, exacted his revenge on Nijman, beating him 5-4 in the semi-finals. Rafferty then went on to win the tournament, defeating Martin van Velzen 5-2 in the final.
Beau Greaves’ Impressive Performance
Notably, Beau Greaves showcased her remarkable talent, recording 100+ averages in several of her matches, including a 107.36 average against Mayes. Greaves capped off her impressive performance by winning the tournament, defeating Daniel Perry 5-1 in the final and claiming the top prize of £2,500.
“I’m really proud of my performance and I’m excited to see what the future holds,” said Greaves.
The PDC Development Tour continues to be a breeding ground for the next generation of darts stars, with players aged 16 to 23 competing for the chance to earn a coveted spot in the World Darts Championship and secure a Tour Card for 2025 and 2026.
