Darts Enthusiast Noa-Lynn van Leuven Earns Spot on PDC Pro Tour
In an exciting development for the darts community, Noa-Lynn van Leuven is set to make her debut on the PDC Pro Tour after impressive results on the Challenge Tour. The young player will have the opportunity to compete at the upcoming Players Championships 9 and 10 next week.
“She just earned it. Certainly if you can win a Challenge Tour,” remarked fellow darter and expert analyst Vincent van der Voort. “That’s just the best amateurs competing, about 250 or something like that.”
Van der Voort’s comments highlight the significance of Van Leuven’s achievement, as the Challenge Tour is a highly competitive platform for up-and-coming talents in the sport. Her success in this arena has now earned her a coveted spot on the prestigious PDC Pro Tour.
The analyst also noted the growing presence of female darters on the professional circuit, citing the examples of Fallon Sherrock and Lisa Ashton, who have both made their mark on the tour. “So nobody will have a problem with that. You just have to play who you have to play against. Period. The novelty is kind of off,” Van der Voort explained.
As for Van Leuven’s potential to follow in the footsteps of Lisa Ashton, the first and only lady to capture a PDC Tour Card, Van der Voort remained optimistic. “Never say never. She also beat some really good names then, who had a Tour Card before or are close to it now. So I’m certainly not going to say she can’t.”
However, the experienced analyst did acknowledge the difference between the Challenge Tour and the Pro Tour, noting the added pressure and impact of competing against the top players in the world. “When you come walking to the board and you play against someone in the top ten in the world, it has an impact. Some deal with it easier than others,” he explained.
As Noa-Lynn van Leuven prepares to take the next step in her darts career, the excitement and anticipation within the community are palpable. Her journey to the PDC Pro Tour serves as inspiration for aspiring darters, showcasing the possibilities that lie ahead for those who pursue their passion with dedication and skill.
