Darts Standouts Secure Spots in European Darts Open Final Day
The European Darts Open has seen some thrilling action thus far, with Damon Heta, Stephen Bunting, Gian van Veen, and Daryl Gurney all advancing to the final day in Leverkusen after hard-fought second-round victories.
Heta, the Aussie ace, continued his impressive run by defeating Dom Taylor 6-4 with a 99.9 average. The match featured a clinical display of finishing, with Heta hitting four 180s and a high checkout of 104, while Taylor also produced some superb checkouts, including a 106.
Bunting, known as “The Bullet,” also survived a close encounter, edging past Kevin Troppmann 6-4 despite the German’s low 78-point average. Bunting’s highlight was a remarkable 167 checkout that proved crucial in securing the win.
Gian van Veen, the Dutchman, had a rollercoaster of a match against Andy Baetens. Van Veen raced to a 4-0 lead but was pegged back to 4-4 before rallying to win with a 98 checkout and back-to-back 12 and 11 dart legs.

While Daryl Gurney fell short, Ryan Searle continued his dominance over the Northern Irishman, claiming a 6-4 victory. Searle’s impressive 130 checkout on the bull was the highlight of the match, securing his spot in the last 16.
