Baltic Sea Darts Open: Edhouse, De Decker, and Nijman Secure Second-Round Spots
The Baltic Sea Darts Open saw the completion of the second-round lineup on Friday evening, with Ritchie Edhouse, Mike De Decker, and Wessel Nijman securing the final three spots.
Edhouse, who has been a standout performer on the European Tour in recent weeks, showcased an impressive display in his 6-2 victory over Nathan Aspinall. Averaging an exceptional 106.46, with four 180s and two ton-plus checkouts, the Englishman’s 60% doubles success rate was key to his dominant performance. Edhouse will now face Jonny Clayton in the second round.
Meanwhile, Belgium’s Mike De Decker booked his spot in the next round by defeating Martin Schindler 6-3. While the scoring between the two players was relatively even, it was De Decker’s proficiency on the outer ring that proved crucial in securing his progression.
In the final match of the evening, Wessel Nijman emerged victorious over Premier League leader Luke Littler. Despite Littler’s struggles, averaging only 83.98, the Dutchman’s 16-dart break of throw in the seventh leg saw him take a 4-3 lead, which he maintained to clinch a comfortable 6-3 win.
“The second-round lineup is now complete, with darts enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the next round of this exciting Baltic Sea Darts Open tournament.”
