Swedish Darts Star Nearly Achieves Nine-Dart Finish on MODUS Super Series
On the MODUS Super Series, Swedish darts sensation Andreas “Dirty Harrysson” Harrysson nearly etched his name in the history books with an almost-perfect nine-dart finish. Firing a blistering 180 to start, Harrysson confidently set his sights on three treble 19s, leaving him just 150 remaining. In a daring display of showmanship, the Swede gambled on the unconventional route of going for three bullseyes to complete the checkout – nearly pulling off one of the greatest achievements in darts.
“If I started with 180 I’m going to go for it I think. I thought about it when Gilbert tried the 150, if I get the shot I’m going to go for it. It’s been a thought and talk about it (in the practice room).”
While other players have come close, Harrysson’s attempt was the closest witnessed thus far, not just in the MODUS Super Series, but across the entire sport. In the aftermath, the unfazed Swede spoke of the challenge being discussed amongst players in the practice room.
Currently unbeaten on the Super Series after claiming the overall title in his previous outing in Portsmouth, Harrysson exuded confidence, remarking, “Everyone is a great player so I don’t feel unbeatable but I feel good.” His near-perfect performance has undoubtedly set the bar high and left darts enthusiasts eagerly anticipating his next display of brilliance on the MODUS Super Series stage.
