Darts Dominance on the Asian Tour: Ilagan, Toylo, and Azemoto Claim Victories
In a thrilling weekend of darts action, Lourence Ilagan, Alexis Toylo, and Ryusei Azemoto emerged victorious in the three tournaments that took place on the PDC Asian Tour last weekend. The fourth tournament weekend of this circuit was held in the Malaysian city of Penang.
Ilagan’s Milestone Victory
Ilagan’s triumph in the first tournament of the weekend marked a significant milestone, as he became the first Asian player to secure 10 titles on the Asian Tour. The Filipino darter defeated the current ranking leader, Alexis Toylo, 5-2 in the final.
Toylo’s Continued Dominance
However, Toylo quickly regained his footing, as he went on to win the second tournament of the weekend, further cementing his dominance on the Asian Tour this season. Toylo has now won five of the first 12 tournaments, while also finishing as the runner-up on two occasions.
Azemoto’s Triumph
The final tournament of the weekend belonged to Ryusei Azemoto. The Japanese player defeated Reynaldo Rivera 5-0 in the final, having earlier eliminated Toylo in the last 16.
“The results are then included in the PDC Asian Tour Order of Merit, and the top four players in this ranking after all tournaments are completed will receive an invitation to participate in the World Darts Championship.”
The PDC Asian Tour consists of a total of 24 tournaments, with prize money being paid from the last 64 players.
