Ritchie Edhouse Pulls Off Impressive Upset at European Darts Grand Prix
In a recent display of darts prowess, Ritchie Edhouse has continued to make waves on the European Tour. The Englishman’s latest triumph came in the form of a first-round victory over compatriot James Wade at the European Darts Grand Prix.
Edhouse’s impressive run at the Euro Tour tournament in Riesa last week, where he reached the quarterfinals after defeating the likes of Michael Smith and Rob Cross, set the stage for his latest upset. And the trend continued in Sindelfingen, as the ‘The Madhouse’ once again emerged victorious.
After a closely contested opening two legs, Edhouse shifted gears, firing off an 11-darter and a 12-darter to take a commanding 4-1 lead. Wade’s struggles continued, as he failed to find his rhythm in the sixth leg, allowing Edhouse to secure a 90 finish. Though Wade rallied to narrow the gap to 5-2, Edhouse sealed the match with a decisive 14-darter.
Elsewhere, Stephen Bunting also advanced to the second round, comfortably defeating his Croatian opponent Romeo Grbavac by a convincing 6-1 scoreline. Bunting’s impressive 98.60 average underscored his dominance throughout the encounter.
As the European Darts Grand Prix continues to unfold, Edhouse’s and Bunting’s performances have undoubtedly captured the attention of darts enthusiasts, setting the stage for an exciting tournament ahead.
